Our out of school care program is Located within Langdon school and designed for children aged 5-12 that attend Langdon school and need a safe, engaging, and supportive space before and after school. By operating within the school children are supported by familiar routines, consistent expectations, and a seamless transition between their school and out of school care experience.
At Laugh N Learn Langdon School, children are seen as valued contributors, creators, and community members. Our educators support children through engaging experiences that are based on the children's interests. We believe that children learn best through meaningful relationships, hands on exploration, child-led experiences, play based learning, and social/ emotional connection. Our programing is inspired by Alberta's FLIGHT framework and focuses on supporting each child where they are at through curiosity, exploration, community connection, and play.
Starting Kindergarten is a big transition, not just for children but for families as well. Kindergarten Children are required to be registered for the Tuesday/ Thursday classes in order to receive care on non school days (M,W,F). Children attending on non school days will Join Preschool at the Fieldhouse where they will build routines, independence, and strengthen the skills needed for kindergarten through play. Following preschool, they will join the Sarah Thompson Kindergarten group for a dedicated Kindergarten enhancement experience. After kinder enhancement a staff member will walk them to Langdon school.
The educators at Laugh ‘N’ Learn Langdon School work together to create a positive, welcoming environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and excited to be part of the program.
The Langdon School OSC program is led by Amanda, our Site Supervisor, alongside Kiran, who supports children through engaging experiences, relationship-building, and daily programming.
From time to time, educators from our Fieldhouse location may also support the program to help provide consistent care and coverage. We encourage families to get to know our full team.
